How much does a day trip cost in Morocco?
Allow €70 to €130/person for classic excursions (Ourika, Agafay, 3 Valleys) in a small group of 4 to 7 people. €130 to €200/person for more distant destinations (Aït Benhaddou, Ouzoud waterfalls, Essaouira). €250 to €400/person for premium private experiences. All our rates include transfers, guide, water and traditional lunch (unless otherwise stated).
What are the times for a day excursion?
Most of our excursions depart between 7am and 9am from your hotel or riad and return between 5pm and 8pm depending on the destination. For Aït Benhaddou, Ouzoud or Essaouira, allow a full day (10-12h). For the Ourika valley or Agafay, count 6-8h. You can also opt for half-days on some nearby destinations.
What should I bring for a day excursion?
Comfortable clothing suited to the season, closed shoes (mountain, desert, medinas), cap or hat, sunscreen, glasses, camera, power bank, and some cash for optional tips or craft purchases. Mineral water is provided. For altitude hikes (Imlil, Atlas), a fleece is useful even in summer.
Are excursions suitable for kids?
Yes, most of our excursions are family-friendly. We adapt the pace (frequent breaks, water and snacks on board, games during the journey), the content (craft workshops, camel rides, animal watching in Agafay) and provide free child seats. Excursions of less than 4h round trip suit children from age 4. For babies, contact us to adapt.
Can I privatise an excursion for my family or group?
Yes, and there's no major surcharge: most excursions are actually operated in a private small group (you + your family/friends). You keep control of times, stops, photo breaks, restaurant choice. For 4 people, the private rate is often less than 15% more than the shared rate. Request a custom quote.

Travelling to Morocco from the United States

March to May and September to November are the sweet spot: mild days in Marrakech, comfortable trekking in the Atlas Mountains, warm nights in the desert. US travellers on a one-week schedule usually pair day trips from Marrakech with a 3-day desert tour; two weeks allows the imperial cities and the coast as well.
Money and payment
You can pay in USD by card or PayPal before departure — deposit of 30%, balance before arrival, no hidden fees. Prices across the site can be switched to US dollars. On the ground the currency is the Moroccan dirham; cards work in cities, cash is king in the mountain souks and small villages.
Peace of mind
US and Canadian passport holders travel to Morocco without a visa for stays up to 90 days — a passport valid at least six months on arrival is all you need. Every trip we run is operated by our own licensed team, not resold to a third party, and reachable on WhatsApp before, during and after your stay.

Do Americans need a visa to travel to Morocco?
No. US citizens can enter Morocco visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days, with a passport valid for at least six months beyond arrival. Canadian and UK passport holders benefit from the same 90-day exemption. Nothing else is required to join our tours in Morocco or our day trips from Marrakech.
How do I get from the airport to my riad or hotel?
We meet you inside the arrivals hall with a name sign and drive you door to door. Our private transfers cover Marrakech, Casablanca, Agadir and Fes airports, plus long-distance routes to Essaouira, Merzouga or the Atlas villages. Flight tracking is included, so a delayed connection out of JFK or Dulles costs you nothing extra.
How many days do I need in Morocco coming from the United States?
Counting the overnight flight each way, a 7-day trip works well for Marrakech plus a 3-day desert tour to Merzouga and Erg Chebbi. Ten to twelve days lets you add the imperial cities or the Atlantic coast, and two weeks covers a full loop with the Atlas Mountains. Tell us your dates and we build a tailor-made trip around them.
Is Morocco safe for American travellers?
Morocco is one of the most visited countries in Africa and receives millions of foreign travellers a year, including a fast-growing number of Americans. What is the time difference between the US and Morocco?
Morocco runs on GMT+1 year-round, which puts it 5 hours ahead of New York in winter and 4 hours ahead in summer, 8 and 7 hours ahead of Los Angeles respectively.
